Georgia - Blissful Yoga Studio
Tell us about yourself: I opened Blissful Yoga studio in the heart of Sechelt in the spring of 2012. Since then I have also branched out into the world of online wellness with two signature programs, 'Root to Rise' and 'Nourish: Self-Care Circle'. At the heart of all the work I do is a desire to support people to nourish themselves because I know that when we feel cared for, we are more able to be patient, kind, joyful and present in our lives!
Tell us about your business: I relocated Blissful Yoga Studio to Mermaid St last year - our new location is next door to Hummingbird Naturopathic Clinic. It is an intimate space from which I am currently offering 8 classes per week - mostly in hatha yoga (fairly mellow yoga focused on stretching and relaxing). I love to offer yoga that supports people to feel wonderful, to heal and to be more present in their lives. All of my classes are beginner friendly and also well-suited to all ages, from teens to seniors.
My online work is focused on supporting busy mama's and business women to prioritize and tend to their well-being. My programs use a combination of yoga, meditation and self-care tools and strategies to support women to 'fill their tank up' because we know - you can't run on an empty tank! So many women I know take on so much, constantly giving to others out of the goodness of their hearts, but are left feeling overwhelmed. I am inspired to support them to nourish themselves so that they have lots to give to their work, their families and their community, without it depleting them!
What's your favourite thing about the Sunshine Coast: I went to high school here and then left for many years. Upon my return what really drew me back is the beautiful, natural landscape we have access to. I love hiking, kayaking, camping and swimming and the Coast has so many fantastic places to explore. There are still many on my list to see that I have not ventured to yet - we are very lucky to have the back country that we do!
